Taylor Wurtz led all players with 24 points and Jolene Anderson had a double-double as the Wisconsin GLO remained unbeaten with a decisive 88-45 victory over the Music City Icons during a Global Women’s Basketball Association contest Saturday, June 1 at Ensworth High School in Nashville, Tennessee.

The GLO (4-0, 2-0 GWBA), playing their first road game in the franchise’s inaugural season, built leads of 45-22 at halftime and 71-30 after three quarters. Wisconsin outscored Music City, 55-20, during the middle two periods.

Wurtz scored all but two of her points after the first quarter in her GLO debut following a successful professional season in France.

Anderson added 20 points and 10 rebounds in her second game with the GLO while Merissa Quick contributed a season-high 16 points and five boards in a reserve role.

Wisconsin had 11 total scorers, including Allie LeClaire with eight points, Lauren Johnson with six and Gabbi Ortiz with five. Jessica Lindstrom and Johnson grabbed eight and seven rebounds, respectively, for the GLO.

Music City (0-2, 0-2 GWBA) received a team-leading 14 points and 12 rebounds from Brea Edwards. Brianna Lawrence chipped in 13 points off the Icons bench.

The GLO went into Saturday’s game winning by an average of 25 points per game and limiting opponents to 29.9 percent shooting from the field.

The Wisconsin GLO return home to host the Chicago Breeze for a non-league game Saturday, June 8 at Menominee Nation Arena in Oshkosh. The June 8 contest will feature a bobblehead giveaway and mark the GLO debuts of Janel McCarville, the 2005 WNBA top overall pick and former WNBA champion, and UW-Green Bay All-American Julie Wojta.
